Dear Nimitz Families and Students,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! This year, we are thrilled to hone in on two of our seven core competency focus of our Portrait of a Learner under the inspiring theme: "Spark your Mind, Impact the World." Our goal is to prepare students not just for academic success, but for life beyond our walls. To do this, we are focusing on two foundational competencies: becoming a Resilient Learner and a Global Contributor.

To Spark your Mind, we will cultivate the traits of a Resilient Learner. True learning requires curiosity, taking risks, and embracing challenges. We want our students to view mistakes not as failures, but as essential steps toward growth. When faced with obstacles, Nimitz students will learn to adapt, persist, and bounce back stronger.

To Impact the World, we will empower students to be Global Contributors. Education gains true meaning when it is used to lift others. Our students will explore diverse perspectives, practice empathy, and understand how their unique voices and actions can create positive change—both locally and globally.
