MTSS
MTSS stands for Multi-Tiered System of Support. The tiered structure uses assessment data to match need with support and instructional resources for each and every student. This framework helps staff to monitor student progress and personalize instruction using appropriate and effective resources. Within an MTSS framework, there are three tiers. Tier 1 is Universal instruction for all students in the general education classroom. Tier 2 is Supplemental instruction with targeted small group intervention for students based on identified need. Tier 3 is Intensive targeted intervention that is individualized for a student.
